Snowball Arena Skillz title is worse than a joke
The Skillz title in Snowball Arena is supposed to represent a player having skills and dedicated time to earning the Skillz title, in a set pvp arena.
But the title points earned here is worse than a joke, because of cheating.
Problem 1 is syncing.
Problem 2 is botting.
Problem 3 is using 'cheats'.
Certain groups of players sync into Snowball Arena (typically from certain guilds), using counting methods, or vent. That in itself wouldn't be so bad, except when you add in the factor of botting. What it means is that the syncers have a team of 'good' players that they want to be with and know - but regular players load into the game, typically with bots.
It doesn't matter how good a player you are, if you are facing a sync team, and you have 1, 2 or 3 bots on your team, you cannot win. Especially as I have seen atm that the bots are not picking up presents.
Problem 3 further makes matters worse, as various 'cheats' are used by the 'good' players, to help them win; and they justify their use with various excuses (like, 'anyone can do what I do, so it's fair'). These 'cheats' include using macros, using texmod (to take out visual distractions from the arena and highlight presents), and using various cheat programs, including 3rd party ones.
When you are facing a sync team using cheats, and you have bots on your team, you cannot hope to win. The syncers get large amounts of consecs (I have seen screenies of over 150 consec wins) - and I think the situation is extremely unfair. The Skillz title would be a joke of a title, except it's not even funny.
I do not expect that my writing here will stop the syncing cheaters, as they obviously have no conscience; but maybe it will draw attention to the problems and create more awareness or discussion.

this is srsly a joke, which "random" arena in gw doesnt have sync? if you sync 4 pve noobs you still lose, simply having synced in a bunch of ppl you know does not guarantee you have a good grp
as for farming bots, they exist in every arena as well
as for cheats, this thread is not going to do anything except for making ppl blame EVERYTHING on bots.
in the last 2 days ive been playing on a chinese acct, and as soon as my team win i get accused of "botting" and "cheating" by the "elite" gvg and ha players, because obviously chinese players are cheaters. nice joke? how would you feel if you get accused of something you didn't do, just because you won the game? just because some one can perform tricks and do things you cant do, does not mean they are cheating
srsly its annoying that ppl ALWAYS jump to the conclusion that their opponent is cheating, when they lose. and the racial stereotype of asian players cheating needs to go away

Sorry, but nobody cares.
Its annoying enough to sync in properly since you want to do it in a disctrict where everyone else isn't syncing teams as well.

press alt and click the present?
syncing and botting is always a problem. it's nothing new. anet maybe might use someone - a player i mean - capable of providing working solution for it, rather than dozens of people whining 'FIX IT COZ I CANT PLAY, OH MY BALLZ QQ!!!11'. they just might have no idea how to handle it properly.

To be honest, this last part really had me in fits of laughter. If anet are happy enough to allow the rampant homophobia that goes on in GW, i.e. "This is gay, that's gay you're gay, fag, etc etc etc" then what makes you think they care in the slightest about racism? They also have no issue with bible-bashing god-botherers sitting in Kama or LA all day long trying to force feed you the word of God.
Nope, it'll never stop, nor will the bots or the syncing or any of the other evils that anet just don't give a shit about. Perhaps they do care, but unfortunately, they weren't smart enough to think about that before they wrote the bot, hack and such-friendly GW client. Too late now.

ok, now why would you be laughing at such a serious issue? as much as i think this is a problem, im not delusional enough to think that anet will do anything at all to fix it, im only stating my opinion here.

i just think he stated that the stereotype has to go away, as not only asians cheat and blaming someone else for all those bots and cheats is not the way to go, as it goes on in our very close community as well. i don't find that comment relevant or necessary at all, but you might have overinterpreted that part, Ginsu. but let's not stray from the topic...

Join the club. I've been trying to get my title for the past few days but keep running into brickwalls. Every 2 games or so there will be at least one known botter. Hell, I can name at least 6 different names offhand, one of which belongs to an account that has been botting FA/JQ for years. And don't even get me started on the syncers...when I see opponents with all the same guild tag I simply resign rather than waste my time.

No, but at least you know you will not get leavers, bots, leechers or pre-searing newbs. I consider that a huge advantage.

well, my point was that this whole botting/cheating commotion lately is going too far. this, taken together with the fact that there are stereotypes against certain players, is just going to make everyone use bot as a scapegoat for their own failures.

why? because its wayyy faster to pick up presents when u use ur keyboard
ie.
T : target nearest item
Spacebar: pick up
Clicking is too slow and inaccurate
oh and...you r9 and r10 ppl u know doesn't mean they are good at snowball because of they rank btw. I'm myself only near r5 and it doesn't stop me to get in the top8 of SB AT

lol trust me these ppl i know are good, we make 100+ wins almost every day. i belive this is a matter of preference rather than fact, you simply cant expect every player to play like you do. for example some ppl click to dodge, while some use a combination of keyboard and mouse, but that doesnt mean those who only click are inferior, its just the way they play

u can say what you want...they can make even 10000 wins per day
but i will pick up faster the presents then them while using my keybord.
I can bet a stack of zkeys on that
and nobody in the top SB AT guilds use clicking to pick up presents o_O
